What trading signals are
In Finger Manager, a trading signal is a trading instruction that can enter from different trading terminals, strategy systems, or external trading systems, then be standardized, managed, and forwarded.
A trading signal does not have to be generated by Finger Manager or Finger Trader. Finger Manager does not restrict where the signal is created; it works as a unified signal access, management, and distribution center.
Signal sources are not limited
A signal can come from any connected trading environment or system that is able to output trading instructions.
Finger Trader Signals generated from the Finger Trader client or its related trading flow.
MetaTrader 5 Signals from MT5 or environments connected around MT5.
Custom and third-party systems Signals from proprietary trading systems, quantitative strategies, third-party platforms, algorithmic systems, OMS, EMS, or other instruction sources.
How signals enter Finger Manager
Trading signals generated by different sources can be connected into Finger Manager.
After entering Finger Manager, the system can manage these signals consistently and continue sending them to downstream systems according to user configuration.
Finger Trader to Manager Client-side trading actions can become managed signals.
MT5 to Manager Signals from MT5-side systems can be connected into the same signal workflow.
External systems to Manager External systems can send their own trading instructions into Finger Manager for standardized forwarding.
Standardized transmission through FIX
Finger Manager uses FIX (Financial Information eXchange) as one of the primary standardized communication methods for trading signals.
FIX is a widely used electronic trading communication protocol in the financial industry. It can be used to transmit orders, executions, trading instructions, and other trading-related information.
Through FIX, Finger Manager can transform signals from different sources into a standardized structure so they can connect more easily to other financial infrastructure.
A typical flow is: Signal Source -> Finger Manager -> FIX -> Target System.
Signals can be forwarded to any downstream system
After a user receives a signal, it can be forwarded according to the institution's own business architecture.
Finger Manager does not lock trading signals into one fixed platform. It is closer to a Signal Hub inside institutional trading infrastructure.
Trading infrastructure Broker systems, OMS, EMS, FIX Gateway, liquidity providers, exchange interfaces, and third-party trading platforms.
Internal systems Internal trading systems, risk management systems, algorithmic trading systems, and proprietary back-office systems.
Process trading signals through API
In addition to FIX, Finger Manager provides APIs so users can retrieve and process trading signals according to their own business requirements.
Users can either use the standard FIX interface directly or build fully customized signal processing logic through API.
Read and query Get trading signals, query signal content, retrieve historical signals, and filter by product or account.
Process and transform Perform secondary processing, convert signals into internal data formats, and add internal risk logic.
Forward and automate Send signals to other systems, save and analyze signal data, or build automated trading workflows.
Complete examples
Example 1: Finger Trader -> Finger Manager receives and manages the signal -> FIX / API -> user's OMS -> Risk Engine -> Broker.
Example 2: MT5 -> Finger Manager -> API -> institution's proprietary trading system -> FIX Gateway -> Liquidity Provider.
Example 3: Quant Strategy -> Finger Manager -> FIX -> Broker / Execution Venue.
Regardless of where the signal is first generated, Finger Manager can act as the unified middle layer for access and forwarding.
Signals and order execution are different concepts
A trading signal is not the same as real order execution.
Finger Manager is responsible for receiving, standardizing, managing, and forwarding signals. Whether a signal becomes a real order, which risk rules apply, which account receives it, and where it is executed can be decided by the receiving institution.
Signal does not equal execution. Finger Manager provides open trading signal infrastructure; it does not force a user's execution method.
Core characteristics
Trading signals in Finger Manager are designed for open institutional workflows rather than a single fixed execution path.
Any signal source Finger Trader, MT5, proprietary systems, quantitative strategies, or third-party platforms can all become signal sources.
Unified management Signals from different platforms can enter Finger Manager for centralized management.
FIX connection Connect to other trading infrastructure through the widely used FIX protocol.
Open API Use API to read, process, transform, and forward signals freely.
Flexible downstream systems Signals can continue to Broker, OMS, EMS, risk systems, proprietary systems, or other execution infrastructure.
Not bound to an execution platform Finger Manager does not restrict where the signal is eventually processed or executed.
In one sentence: trading signals generated anywhere can enter Finger Manager; after unified management, Finger Manager forwards them through FIX or API to any trading system the user wants to connect.
