User Groups

User Groups lets operations staff divide Finger Trader users into business groups and send different notification content to different groups.

In Finger Manager, operators can create user groups first, add users to those groups, and then select a target group when publishing a notification. The system will deliver the message to all valid users in that group.

This is suitable for customer segmentation, market-specific notices, VIP customer management, campaign audiences, and other scenarios that require differentiated reach by user segment.

Send different notifications by user group

Finger Manager supports multiple independent user groups, such as VIP Active Traders, High Value Clients, Dormant Accounts, New Users, US Market Users, Japan Market Users, Event Participants, or Institution A Users.

Different groups can receive different notification content. For example, VIP Active Traders can receive exclusive high-value campaign notices, Dormant Accounts can receive reactivation reminders, and US Market Users can receive US market time or product notices.

User groups help operations staff avoid sending every message to all users and instead match notification content to customer attributes.

01 Create a user group

Operations staff first create a user group in Finger Manager.

A group can include a group name, description, purpose, status, and member list.

For example, the group name can be VIP Active Traders, with the description High-activity VIP users. After creation, this group can be used for future notification delivery.

02 Add users to a group

After a group is created, one or more users can be added to it.

A user can belong to multiple groups at the same time. For example, Aki Tanaka can belong to VIP Clients, Japan Users, and US Market Users.

This lets institutions organize operational audiences across different business dimensions.

03 Select a target group

When creating a notification, operations staff can set the target scope to User Group and select the group that should receive the notification.

For example, if the target group is VIP Active Traders, Finger Manager automatically reads all valid users in that group.

Operators do not need to select every user manually.

04 Configure different notification content

Different user groups can receive completely different content.

For example, VIP Active Traders can receive VIP-exclusive market activities, High Value Clients can receive dedicated service and product updates, and Dormant Accounts can receive reactivation messages.

This lets institutions design different messages and operating strategies for different customer segments.

Supported notification types

User groups only decide which group of users receives the message. The delivery channel depends on the selected notification type.

User groups can be combined with Popup, Login Popup, Marquee, Announcement, In-App Notification, Push Notification, Email, SMS, and Home Banner.

For example, VIP User Group plus Popup shows a campaign popup only to VIP users; Dormant Accounts plus Push Notification sends system push only to dormant users; US Market Users plus Marquee displays a market reminder only to US market users; High Value Clients plus Email sends email only to high-value customers.

Send one notification to multiple groups

Operations staff can select multiple user groups for the same notification.

For example, VIP Active Traders and High Value Clients can both be selected as the target audience.

If one user belongs to multiple selected groups, Finger Manager should deduplicate users according to backend notification rules to avoid generating duplicate messages.

Different content for different groups

The main value of user groups is not only batch delivery, but differentiated content operations.

For the same market campaign, VIP users can see VIP Exclusive Market Event and be directed to a VIP landing page, active users can see Market Update and be directed to a regular campaign page, and dormant users can see Discover What's New to encourage reactivation.

One operating event can therefore use different copy, CTAs, and destinations for different customer groups.

Difference from Targeted Users

Targeted Users directly specifies exact users, such as Aki Tanaka, John Smith, or User 10023. It is suitable for single customers, small numbers of specified customers, individual business notices, and customer service follow-up. Its core question is: which people should receive this message?

User Groups uses a saved user collection, such as VIP users, active trading users, dormant users, US market users, or Japan-region users. It is suitable for customer segmentation, batch notifications, long-term operations, multi-market operations, and marketing campaigns. Its core question is: which type of users should receive this message?

In simple terms: Targeted Users means specific people; User Groups means a category of people.

Group maintenance

User groups can be maintained as business needs change.

Operations staff can create groups, edit group names, add users, remove users, view user counts, view members, disable groups, and delete groups that are no longer used.

With regular maintenance, user groups can become a long-term operating base in Finger Manager.

Common group categories

Institutions can create user groups based on their own business model.

By customer value: VIP Clients, High Value Clients, Standard Clients.

By activity: Active Traders, Dormant Accounts, New Users.

By market: US Market Users, Forex Users, Crypto Users, Japan Market Users.

By campaign: IPO Participants, Campaign Users, Event Participants.

By institution or channel: Institution A, Institution B, Partner Channel Users.

Manager and App workflow

In Finger Manager, operations staff create a user group, add users, create a notification, select the target group, configure notification content, choose channels, and publish.

The backend reads the target group, gets all users in the group, deduplicates users where needed, and creates the notification delivery relationship.

In Finger Trader App, the user logs in or receives a notification, the system checks group membership, retrieves the corresponding notification, and displays the group-specific content.

Users outside the target group do not receive the content.

Typical use cases

VIP customer operations: add important customers to a VIP group and publish exclusive products, campaigns, or service information to that group.

Active user operations: publish market activities, new products, or advanced features to users who use Finger Trader frequently.

Dormant user reactivation: add long-inactive or low-activity users to Dormant Accounts and send reactivation notices through Push, Email, or In-App messages.

Market-specific users: group users by US stocks, Forex, or other markets and send notices related to their actual market usage.

Campaign user management: create a campaign participant group before an event and publish exclusive notifications, banners, or in-app messages to those members.

Note: User Groups is a customer segmentation and batch delivery capability in the Finger Manager notification system.

Institutions can divide users into groups based on business needs and configure different notification content and reach channels for different groups.

Compared with selecting users one by one, user groups are better suited for long-term, repeated, and scalable customer operations, allowing the same Finger Trader App to display different information to different customer segments.

  1. Operators open the saved group list instead of selecting users one by one.

    Manager displays reusable audience groups.
  2. The operator selects one group and confirms the current group size and scope.

Only members in that group are eligible for the popup.
  3. After publishing, users in the group see the popup in the app. Users outside the group do not see it.

Group-based campaigns can be repeated without manual user selection.
