Product profile defines the basic identity of a trading instrument in Finger Manager and how that instrument is displayed in Finger Trader.
After a Trading Desk has been created and bound to the corresponding ticker, administrators need to complete the product profile, including Ticker or Symbol, display name, market, category, product icon, product status, and other front-end display information.
These fields become the foundation for quote configuration, trading parameters, and formal listing. Some fields are mainly used for internal system identification, while others are synchronized directly to Finger Trader and affect the product name, icon, and market category seen by end users.

01 Ticker / Symbol
Ticker or Symbol is an important identifier used by the system to recognize a specific trading product. Examples include AAPL, TSLA, JPY/USD, XAU/USD, and BTC/USDT.
Ticker values are used for quote matching, product identification, quote binding, order processing, historical order queries, statistics, API data exchange, and front-end identification in Finger Trader.
When entering a ticker, administrators should make sure it is consistent with the actual quote source and trading system. For products already used in live business, ticker values should not be changed casually because they may affect quote, order, and historical data relationships.
02 Product display name
The product display name is used to show a more understandable product name to Finger Trader users.
For example, AAPL can be displayed as Apple Inc., TSLA as Tesla, Inc., JPY/USD as Japanese Yen / US Dollar, XAU/USD as Gold / US Dollar, and BTC/USDT as Bitcoin / Tether.
Ticker is mainly used for system identification, while the display name is mainly used for end users. Managing them separately keeps the backend standardized while giving customers a clearer product presentation.
03 Market
Every product must be assigned to a market, such as Stocks, Forex, Commodities, Digital Assets, or another market enabled by the institution.
The selected market determines which market category the product appears under in Finger Trader. For example, AAPL appears under Stocks, JPY/USD under Forex, and XAU/USD under Commodities.
The market must first be enabled in Market Management before related products can enter the corresponding configuration workflow.
04 Product category
In addition to the market, institutions can further classify products according to their own product structure.
For example, under Stocks, categories may include US Stocks, ETFs, ADRs, and Other Equities. Under Commodities, categories may include Precious Metals, Energy, and Agricultural Products.
Product categories mainly improve backend management and front-end product organization. The actual category structure can be configured according to the institution's business model.
05 Product Icon
Product icons improve recognition of different products in Finger Trader. Administrators can upload an icon for each product.
For example, AAPL can use an Apple-related icon, TSLA can use a Tesla icon, BTC/USDT can use a Bitcoin icon, and XAU/USD can use a gold icon or an institution-defined icon.
Product icons can appear in market lists, product detail pages, watchlists, trading pages, search results, and other client-side product display areas. Consistent product icons help customers recognize products faster when browsing large product lists.
06 Upload product icon
In the product profile page, administrators can upload the corresponding image in the Product Icon area.
Before uploading, confirm that the icon matches the product, is clear, uses a simple background, does not contain unrelated text, does not include unrelated brand elements, and has an aspect ratio suitable for app display.
After upload, the icon can be previewed in Manager. After saving, Finger Trader reads the icon from the current product configuration.
07 Brand icons and usage rights
For stocks, ETFs, digital assets, or other products that involve brand identifiers, the institution should confirm whether it has the right to display or use the related logo, trademark, or brand graphic.
Finger Manager provides product icon upload and display capability, but it does not grant rights to third-party trademarks, logos, or brand assets.
If the institution cannot confirm usage rights, it can use an internal icon, a generic product icon, text or Symbol display, or no separate icon. Product icons are used for interface recognition and do not affect the trading logic of the ticker itself.
08 Product status
The product profile can display the current configuration status of a product.
For example, Configured indicates that the required base profile has been completed. Depending on later product workflows, other statuses may include Draft, Configuring, Active, Inactive, Suspended, and Delisted.
The exact status values depend on the current system version and institution configuration. Completing the base profile does not mean the product is formally listed. Quote data, trading parameters, and other required configuration still need to be completed before publication.
09 Front-end preview
Finger Manager can generate an approximate preview of how the product will appear in Finger Trader based on the current profile.
For example, a preview may show AAPL, Apple Inc., 187.23, and +1.35%.
Before publication, administrators can use preview to check whether the ticker is correct, product name is complete, icon is clear, market category is correct, and page display meets expectations. If issues are found, they can be corrected in Manager before listing.
10 Information synchronized to Finger Trader
After the product is configured and formally listed, Finger Trader can read the profile set in Manager.
This usually includes Symbol or Ticker, product display name, Product Icon, market, category, product status, and other display fields allowed for client access.
For example, if Manager configures Ticker as AAPL, display name as Apple Inc., market as Stocks, and icon as the Apple product icon, Finger Trader can display the product according to that configuration.
11 Product profile and real-time quotes
Product profile tells the system who the product is and how it should be displayed. Real-time quotes tell the system what the current price is.
For example, profile data may be AAPL, Apple Inc., Stocks, and icon. Real-time quote data may be 187.23 and +1.35%.
They are different configuration layers. Even if product name and icon are configured, Finger Trader cannot display real-time market data correctly unless the correct quote source is connected. After completing the profile, administrators still need to configure the corresponding quote source.
12 Modify product profile
After a product is created, administrators with the required permissions can modify parts of its profile, such as display name, icon, category, and other display fields.
However, key fields that affect system data relationships, such as ticker and market, should be modified carefully.
If the product already has historical orders, quote records, position data, trading statistics, or API calls, administrators should confirm whether changing key identifiers will affect existing data relationships.
13 Profile in standard product templates
If a product is created from a standard template, Finger Manager can prefill part of the profile.
Examples include ticker, product name, market category, common display information, recommended icon or icon rules, and some base parameters.
Administrators can confirm or adjust the profile according to the institution's actual business needs. This reduces repeated input for common products.
14 Custom product profile
For custom products, the institution needs to fill in the relevant information itself.
For example, a custom product may use ticker ABC-INDEX, display name ABC Technology Index, market Custom Index, and an institution-defined icon.
Custom products can also be displayed in Finger Trader according to the institution's own brand and product structure.
Product profile is the foundation for later product configuration. Before entering quote and trading-parameter setup, confirm that ticker, display name, market, category, icon, and product status are correct.
Ticker is responsible for system identification. Display name and icon are responsible for user recognition. Market and category are responsible for product organization. After completing the profile, administrators can continue to quote data and trading parameter configuration.
