Positions

The positions page is used to view and manage trading orders that are still open.

It belongs to the Trading Management area in Finger Manager and is mainly used by trading operations, risk teams, market maker administrators, and other authorized back-office users. Unlike historical orders, positions represent orders that have not yet completed their lifecycle.

The page helps authorized users monitor product, side, quantity, open price, floating profit and loss, fees, customer ownership, order number, and available order actions.

What the positions page shows

The positions table focuses on current open orders. Typical fields include product, buy or sell direction, quantity, open time, open price, floating profit and loss, interest rate, fee, user, and order number.

These fields allow trading operations and risk teams to quickly identify which customer holds which product, when the order was opened, and how the position is currently performing.

Floating profit and loss

Open positions may receive real-time floating profit and loss updates through the configured market data and order data channels.

Floating profit and loss is used for monitoring and risk review while the order is still open. Final profit and loss should be confirmed after the order is closed and archived.

RTS action

For market maker or maker-employee roles with the required permissions, the positions table can show an RTS button in the action column.

Clicking RTS opens a confirmation step. The operator should confirm the order, quantity, and current market price before submitting the RTS action. The actual downstream handling depends on the institution's configured trading workflow.

Difference from historical orders

Positions are current open orders. Historical orders are completed and archived records.

When a position is closed, cancelled, transferred, or otherwise completed according to the trading workflow, its final record can move into the historical order area for later review.

Permission control

Positions and RTS actions are sensitive trading-management functions. Institutions should limit access to authorized trading operations, risk teams, market maker administrators, and roles with the required order permissions.

Users without RTS permission may be able to view position data depending on their role, but should not be able to trigger RTS actions.

In short: the positions page is the Manager back-office view for monitoring current open positions, floating profit and loss, customer ownership, and authorized RTS actions.

  1. Trading operations open the positions page to view current open orders and floating profit and loss.

The table shows currently open positions.
  2. Use market, product, customer, side, and status filters to locate the position that needs review.

The selected row exposes order ownership, open price, floating P/L, fee, and order number.
  3. Authorized market maker or maker-employee roles can use the RTS button in the action column and confirm the current market price.

Manager records the RTS action and continues the configured order processing workflow.
