Price precision defines how many decimal places are retained when a trading product displays and processes prices in Finger Trader.
Different markets and tickers can have different price structures, so Finger Manager supports setting quote precision independently for each product.
After an administrator changes price precision, Finger Trader displays the product's Bid, Ask, and related prices according to that rule. In short, price precision decides how many decimal places the product price should show.

Price precision controls displayed decimals for one product. Increasing 0.01 to 0.001 makes the quote preview show one more decimal place.
Go to Market & Product Management > Price Precision, then select the corresponding market and product to view the current precision for that ticker.
For example, NZD/USD with current precision 0.01 means the product is currently displayed with two decimal places.
Administrators can adjust the precision according to actual market rules.
Price precision can be understood as the smallest displayed price unit allowed by the quote display rule.
Precision 0.01 displays prices such as 0.59 or 0.60, which means two decimal places. Precision 0.001 displays prices such as 0.591 or 0.602, which means three decimal places.
Precision 0.00001 can display values such as 1.08642, which means five decimal places. Each product should use the precision that matches its real market quote structure.
Price precision maps directly to displayed decimal places: 1 means zero decimals, 0.1 means one decimal, 0.01 means two decimals, 0.001 means three decimals, 0.0001 means four decimals, and 0.00001 means five decimals.
For example, if the raw product price is 0.59661 and precision is set to 0.01, Finger Trader can display it as 0.60. If precision is set to 0.00001, Finger Trader can display the full five-decimal value 0.59661.
Price precision is a product-level configuration. Even products in the same market can use different precision.
For stocks, AAPL may use 0.01 while some low-priced stocks may need 0.0001. For forex, some pairs may use 0.00001 while JPY-related pairs may use different precision. Digital assets may require more flexible decimal settings.
For this reason, precision should not be set only at the market level. It should follow the real quote structure of each ticker.
The precision configured in Finger Manager should match the actual quote source.
If the quote source continuously provides 0.59661 but the backend is configured to two decimals, the client may display 0.60. This does not mean the raw quote only has two decimals; it means Finger Trader is applying the product display rule.
The quote source determines the raw price. Price precision determines how the system displays and processes the number of decimal places. These two layers should be reasonably aligned.
Price precision applies to Bid and Ask display.
For example, if the current quote is Bid 0.59606 and Ask 0.59611, precision 0.01 may display both as 0.60. Precision 0.00001 can display Bid 0.59606 and Ask 0.59611.
Incorrect precision can make it difficult for customers to see the actual Bid / Ask difference. This is especially important for forex, digital assets, and other high-precision products.
Price precision and minimum price movement, often called Tick Size, are related but not always identical.
Price precision defines how much price information is retained and displayed. Tick Size defines the smallest price movement allowed by market rules.
For example, a price may display five decimal places, while the actual market may only allow movement according to a specific Tick Size. If the system provides Tick Size configuration, it should be set separately according to real product rules.
Price precision affects quote display and may also affect order price input and validation.
For example, if a limit order product allows only two decimals, 187.23 may be valid while 187.23456 may need to be rounded, truncated, or rejected according to product rules.
The exact handling depends on the institution's trading system and order rules. Price precision should remain consistent with the OMS, broker, execution system, liquidity provider, and quote source.
Changing price precision mainly affects current and future price display and processing.
Historical orders, historical executions, raw quote data, and settlement records should not have their original values changed because of front-end precision adjustments.
Price precision is better understood as a product display and trading-rule configuration, not a way to modify historical business data.
Finger Manager can provide a quote preview on the price precision settings page.
After modifying precision, administrators can directly check how Bid and Ask will be displayed. For example, if the raw quote is Bid 0.59606 and Ask 0.59611, setting precision to 0.01 makes the preview display the quote according to the new precision.
The preview helps verify decimal places, Bid / Ask distinction, market convention, and front-end readability before saving or applying the change.
Administrators can increase or decrease price precision according to the product's actual requirements.
For example, changing 0.01 to 0.001 increases precision from two decimal places to three decimal places. After the change, Finger Trader displays corresponding prices according to the latest product configuration.
For products already trading live, administrators should confirm quote-source precision, current order rules, OMS price format, broker or LP rules, pending orders, and possible client experience impact before changing precision.
Different asset classes usually have different price display conventions.
Stocks often use fewer decimal places, depending on exchange and product rules. Forex usually needs higher precision to show smaller price movements. Precious metals may use different precision depending on quote source and product structure.
Digital assets may need more flexible decimal places because some products are very high-priced or very low-priced. Custom or OTC products can follow the institution's own quote rules. Finger Manager does not force all markets to use the same price format.
Price precision is an important product parameter.
It is recommended to limit modification permission to institution administrators, product administrators, trading management users, and backend roles with product-configuration permission.
Customer service users or roles without product-management responsibilities usually only need view permission.
The core logic is: raw quote price -> Finger Manager product precision rule -> Finger Trader quote display.
For example, raw quote 0.59606 with precision 0.01 can display as 0.60. If precision changes to 0.00001, the client can display 0.59606.
Price precision should follow the real market rules, quote source, and trading-system configuration of the specific product. It should not be adjusted only for visual appearance. Price precision controls how fine the price is displayed; the actual market quote is provided by the quote source.
