Freeze / unfreeze

Freeze / unfreeze controls whether a customer can sign in to Finger Trader.

When a back-office administrator turns off the customer's App login access, the customer account enters a frozen state. If the customer tries to sign in again, Finger Trader rejects the login request and shows the corresponding frozen-account message.

When the administrator restores login access, the customer can sign in normally again. This function is mainly used for account security, risk handling, abnormal customer status management, and internal operational control.

Freeze and unfreeze directly affect customer login availability. Once Manager disables app login, Finger Trader rejects the sign-in attempt and shows a frozen-account message.

01. Open customer detail

Find the customer in Customer Management -> Customer List and open the customer detail page.

Before freezing or unfreezing access, confirm the customer name, UID, Email, current account status, and current login permission. Prefer UID for identity confirmation to avoid operating on the wrong account when names are duplicated.

02. Review current login access

In the Account Access area of the customer detail page, staff can see whether the customer is currently allowed to sign in to the App.

Available means the customer currently has Finger Trader login access. Frozen means App login access is turned off and the customer cannot continue signing in.

Login access is an independent account access-control status. It should not be confused with account-opening status, Pilot status, or customer tags.

03. Freeze customer login access

When a customer should be temporarily blocked from signing in, turn off Allow customer App login.

After the switch is turned off, Finger Manager saves the new access state and sets the customer's login access to frozen. From the time this state takes effect, the customer cannot enter Finger Trader even if the account and password are correct.

Freezing an account does not delete customer data. Base profile, account-opening materials, historical orders, account relationships, risk tags, and operation records remain stored in Manager. Freeze is access-control management, not customer account deletion.

04. Enter the freeze reason

When freezing login access, enter a clear reason. Typical reasons include pending risk review, customer information requiring additional confirmation, account security anomaly, internal compliance review, customer-requested access suspension, or other internal management reasons.

The freeze reason helps other back-office users understand why the account is restricted, and supports later unfreeze review, internal audit, and issue tracking. For important account actions, avoid overly simple descriptions that cannot be traced.

05. Client login interception

When a frozen customer tries to sign in from Finger Trader, the system reads the latest account access state from Manager.

The process can be understood as: customer submits login request -> system verifies account information -> system checks login access -> account is frozen -> login is rejected.

Because of this, the institution can block customer login directly through account access control without deleting the account or changing the customer's password.

06. Frozen-account message in the client

When a frozen customer attempts to sign in, Finger Trader displays a message based on the account status returned by the back office. The message can tell the customer that the account is temporarily unavailable and that they should contact their institution or administrator.

The actual copy can be adjusted according to the institution's business rules and client configuration. Manager controls the account access state, and Finger Trader performs login interception and front-end messaging based on that state.

07. Restore customer login access

When the freeze reason has been handled and access should be restored, turn Allow customer App login back on. After saving, the customer account regains login access.

The next time the customer signs in, the system checks the latest state and allows normal login. Unfreezing does not change the original UID, account-opening status, Pilot status, historical orders, customer relationships, or account profile. It only restores App login access.

08. Operation records

Freeze and unfreeze are important customer permission operations. The system records related operation history, such as operation time, operator, freeze or unfreeze action, freeze reason, status change, and other notes.

For example: Admin -> turned off customer login access -> Pending risk review. Back-office users can use operation records to understand the historical changes of account access and support later review and accountability.

09. Permission control

Not every Manager account can freeze or unfreeze customers. This operation is controlled by role permissions, data scope, and customer-management permissions.

Users who can view customer information but do not have customer access-control permission may see the current status, but cannot modify login access. Institutions should only assign freeze / unfreeze permission to roles responsible for account management, risk control, or compliance handling.

10. Difference from other customer states

Freeze mainly controls customer login access. It is a different dimension from account-opening status, Pilot status, and cancellation status.

Freeze / unfreeze decides whether the customer can sign in to Finger Trader. Account-opening status indicates whether the customer has completed the corresponding business opening process. Pilot status indicates whether the customer has the corresponding Pilot business capability. Cancellation status indicates whether the customer account has entered the cancellation lifecycle.

Therefore, a customer who has completed account opening can still have login access frozen separately. Restoring login access also does not automatically change account-opening status or other business permissions.

Usage note

When handling an abnormal customer account, a recommended workflow is: confirm customer UID -> review current login state -> verify freeze reason -> freeze or unfreeze -> save settings -> review operation records.

Freeze is suitable when the institution needs to temporarily block client access while retaining the complete customer account and historical data.

For freezes related to risk, compliance, or other important reasons, complete the necessary internal review before the action and record a clear freeze reason. Freeze only controls login access and does not represent a final determination about customer risk, violation, or account nature.

  1. The administrator first confirms the customer identity and account information before changing login access.

The customer is still able to sign in.
  2. Turning off the access switch freezes login availability for this customer while preserving the reason in Manager.

The account changes from active to frozen.
  3. When the same customer attempts to sign in from Finger Trader, the app checks the latest access state from Manager.

    The sign-in request is rejected.
  4. The app shows a clear message that the account is frozen and the customer should contact the administrator.

The customer cannot enter the app until access is restored.
